A story of devotion and acquiescence- the celebration of a long life full of love, and the acceptance of mortality.

Inspired by Richard Strauss' breath-taking song 'Befreit', performed by mezzo-soprano Kitty Whately and pianist Joseph Middleton, we see the story of an elderly couple, played by Kevin Whately and Madelaine Newton. A husband nurses his wife gently to the end of her days, thanking her for the beautiful life they have lived together, and promising to devote himself to their children, as she always has.
